Waysetters is made by North Pine Studio LLC ("we," "our," "us"). This policy explains what information the Waysetters app collects, how it's used, and your choices. We wrote it in plain language on purpose — if anything here is unclear, contact us using the details at the bottom.
The short version
Waysetters is built to work entirely on your device. Your packing lists, trip details, and preferences are stored locally on your phone using standard on-device storage. We do not operate a server that receives, stores, or has access to your packing lists. We do not sell data, because we do not collect the kind of data that could be sold.
What information stays on your device
The following is stored only on your phone, using Apple and Android's standard local storage systems, and is never transmitted to us or anyone else:
- Your packing lists and trip details (rig, comfort level, trip length, season, item names, weights, and packed status)
- Your unit preference (Imperial or Metric)
- Any custom items or categories you create
If you delete the Waysetters app from your device, this information is deleted along with it. We have no copy of it and no way to recover it.
What we don't collect
Waysetters does not currently require or use an account, login, or sign-up. We do not collect your name, email address, or location through the app. We do not use third-party analytics or advertising trackers. We do not access your contacts, photos, or other apps.
Device permissions
Waysetters may request standard device permissions (such as storage access) solely to save your packing lists locally. It does not request access to your camera, microphone, contacts, or location.
Future features
We're exploring optional account creation and cloud sync in a future version of Waysetters, which would let your lists follow you across devices. If and when that feature ships, this policy will be updated first to explain exactly what would be collected, how it would be stored, and how you can opt out or delete your data — before the feature is available to use.
Children's privacy
Waysetters is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. Since the app does not collect personal information at all in its current version, this is consistent with that design.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Meaningful changes — like the introduction of accounts or cloud sync — will be called out clearly, not buried in a routine update.
